LIFESTYLE : Friday Finds

Happy first day of September! Today also kicks off labor day weekend, and while most associate it with the end of summer, I see it as an opportunity to start my holiday shopping. I know, why so early? I find that spacing out my holiday shopping between four months alleviates that last minute run around and gives me time to shop a variety of sales so that I’m not limited to Black Friday or Cyber Monday come November. Also, it’s easier on the wallet if you’re not the credit card using type!

I’ve been doing some research this past week and found some of my favorite Labor Day weekend deals, discounts, and go-to’s. So pull up a chair, grab a drink, and let’s shop some steals!

ETSY

Etsy is the perfect platform for small business lovers like myself, and this weekend they’ve rounded up shops that are offering special discounts and promotions. This is the first time Etsy has ever done such a thing, so jump on it while you can. If you’re looking to get customized jewelry made or wanted to peruse around for a one of a kind home essentials all while feeling good about supporting a small business; this one’s for you!

I Love the quality of Turkish towels. They look so beautiful hung up in the bathroom and are versatile enough to go from home shower use to beach ready because of their beautiful, minimalist prints!  This Beauty can be found at the Etsy Shop:&n…

SUR LA TABLE

If there’s one thing about fall and the holiday season that I love, it’s all the entertaining that we do! Between my mulled wine nights with girlfriends, to Friends-givings and holiday gatherings;  it’s the perfect excuse to stock up on hostess items and ‘winterfy’ the home. Part of my task this weekend is to do some pre-winter cleaning which is me basically getting our home in order before the Christmas tree makes it’s debut on November 1st (Rockefeller has nothing on our tree lighting ceremony). Along with this cleanup and refresh, I like to add a few items to my hostess list, and Sur La Table is offering amazing deals on Le Creuset, Vitamixers, KitchenAid mixers and the list goes on!  All high priced items, but with 40-60% off in savings on everyday kitchenware's, for me, is an amazing deal! They’re also offering 20% off sale items and make sure to use the code: SHIPFREE at checkout if your purchase exceeds $59! You’re welcome!

               GILT

While Gilt.com is known for discount designer apparel, shoes, jewelry, and home goods, they’re upping their discount game and offering up to 90% off select items on their site. While it’s an array of summer essentials, if you browse around, there is some great transitional apparel and shoes that are amazing quality at a reasonable price. If you sign up with them today (create an online account which takes 2 minutes) you can get 10% off as well as free shipping on any orders over $99 using the code: SHIP99. Also, their items are color coordinated if scrolling through a category which makes browsing so much easier, and for someone like me who color coordinates their closet, my heart skips a beat.

WINC

I love me a good subscription service and a couple of glasses of wine after a long day at work, so it’s safe to say that Winc is my best friend. They customize your wine box to you based on a series of questions, they then recommend a few wines based on your Palate profile, and once you receive said wine matches you can rate them. It’s from those ratings that they’re able to understand what you like, hate, etc. What’s great about this is that I’m able to try a variety of red and whites that I would have never picked up myself, and have it delivered to my doorstep. It’s like having a personal sommelier at my fingertips! Scared of commitment and skeptical? I get It, I was too! So this weekend for those of you who have commitment issues they’re running a great deal for you to test the waters-$26 off your first box with the code: fun17 that’s half off four bottles of wine and for me, that’s a steal! Try them out, you won’t regret it!

Now if only I could get these to my front door in two delivery days...

GROUPON

Poo-Pourri.jpg

So this is where it gets a bit more ‘gifty’. I love groupon because it exposes me to fitness classes I wouldn’t have taken otherwise, new restaurants, services that I didn’t think I needed, and of course random crap that was $7.99 which sounded like a steal so I bought it just because. So, I will preface this by saying you really have to weave through the deals to find something worth buying. I’ve actually stumbled upon some great finds that were worth purchasing even if it was just a stocking stuffer or two.

**If you don't know what Poo-Pourri is, please educate yourself and watch the commercial HERE. Maybe this is TMI but I swear by this stuff, even my office uses it in their bathrooms. Don't knock it til you try it, and lucky for you they're running a buy two get one free deal on their larger Poo-Pourri 4oz. bottles! This makes for comical, yet useful stocking stuffers!
