GIFT GUIDE : Mother's Day

Mother’s day is a week and a half away which gives you just enough time to sift through all your options, place your online orders (that aren’t through Amazon Prime) and wrap it all up in a pretty bow just in time to celebrate mom.

Unfortunately for me, I won’t be home to celebrate my mom, but I will be sending her my love from miles away! While flowers are always a nice gesture, my mother is a Filipina woman who thinks flowers are a waste of money, has everything she needs, can afford everything she wants, so therefore I resort to food. Every year since I moved to Michigan I've sent her something special that she otherwise wouldn’t have purchased for herself, and to remind her why I’m still her favorite daughter!

The thing with purchasing food is that it’s not a one size fits all type of deal, and with a vast array of sweet and savory options it’s easy to get lost in the never ending ‘Mother’s Day Deals’ e-mails. So, to divert you from settling on just anything, I’m compiled a small sweets list that will hopefully steer you in the right direction, introduce you to some wonderful companies, and have you salivating all over your keyboard.
